Why is CNN bashing the “Read a Book” video that aired on BET? They say they understand satire but then why are they not understanding the purpose of this video? It’s poking fun at hip-hop culture. It’s poking fun at all these types of behaviors like the way the people talk, act, dress, and look at life. It’s trying to confront these issues and point them out, not expose them to children. Children are already being exposed to all of this. The video was a wake up call to make people realize that. That there is a problem and things need to change.

Bill O’Reilly Vs. Nas

Are you kidding me? He’s got to be stupid to go after Nas? When I think of violent rappers, Nas is definitely not the first to come to mind. Nas? Nas?! Nas is rapping about the pain, the struggle, and makes motivational songs. I don’t think “gangster” or “guns” when I think of Nas. This is a bunch of crap.

Being on the cover of Vibe makes him a black man obviously. I love how during the Youtube Democratic Debate he proved his “blackness” by his ability to hail a cab.

I spoke with someone over lunch today and I ended up quite disappointed. After brief conversation I asked whether or not they were going to watch the Democratic Presidential Debate tonight. I’ve taken quite an interest in viewing it because first off I care what the candidates have to say even if I already know who I want to vote for, and secondly because it’s going to be a part of history. The candidates will be debating over questions via YouTube. It’s fascinating and I can’t wait to see how it works. It’s going to change the way we’ve seen debates before. This ignorant person told me no. That didn’t upset me, the thing that upset me was when they said “I don’t even know who’s running. Who’s running? Is that woman…ah what’s her name? Clinton”. I think that’s very sad that there are still people out there who I don’t think are sheltered but still don’t know anything about this race. Some may know there’s a woman in the running or a black man but they know nothing of their platforms. I know someone who wants to vote for Hilary strictly because she is a woman. How can you not care at all?

After asking this person how they could not possibly know one person who was running when I could name almost everyone (i’m a politics buff) all they had to simply say was “I don’t care about Politics. I don’t watch the news, It’s just people dieing.” I’m in shock, in awe. Well do you know why these people are dieing? People, pleaseee take some time out of your busy schedules and watch the debate tonight. Don’t just listen to the news and think you’re a genius. My dad will watch a special every so often and then think he’s a genius on the subject. He doesn’t realize these channels can be biased and you can’t learn the whole situation in a few clips in a half hour. I don’t get it how people can not be interested at all. Shock is not even the word for it.

Obama Girl loves drama. I don’t think Obama Girl actually knows a damn thing about politics and I love how Joy Behar called her out as a hooker. This time she’s dueling it out with Giuliani girl. These girls aren’t doing a damn thing for the race in my opinion. But if Obama girl can grab a few Democrat votes, then i’m all for this girl hookering herself out for the democracy of our country. Since the start of the conflict in Darfur in February of 2003:

•   -Nearly 3 million people have been affected by the crisis.
  -More than 300,000 people have died from conflict and diseases.
  -2.5 million civilians have been displaced by the conflict.

May 8 = Grateful Dead Day

The Mayor of Ithaca, Carolyn Peterson has made May 8th, Grateful Dead Day in honor of the 30th anniversary of one of their infamous show that took place on that day back in 1977 at Cornell University’s Barton Hall. Could this be anymore painful to watch? President Bush joined a group of dancers on stage during Malaria Awareness Day on April 15th, to help combat malaria on the continent of Africa. Just proving the old theory that the white man can’t dance. The question is, does Kanye approve? Honestly, I thought it was a fake. I thought it was an impersonator the way he was acting.
