Ice Cube Kills It Nike Commercial

July 24, 2009

I know it’s been flooding the internet waves but I just couldn’t resist. Any commercial that plays “Today Was a Good Day” is pretty chill in my mind. Paul Rod was killing it to the beat and then when Ice shows up it just seals the deal. Good job Nike SB. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re in for a treat.

NEW Wu-Tang Album “Chamber Music”

July 12, 2009

wutangalbum

This is the new Wu-Tang endorsed compilation album that is executive produced by the RZA and is titled “Wu-Tang: Chamber Music — Volume 1“. What does an endorsed compilation album mean exactly?

The project has been designed to pair Wu-Tang Clan original members like Ghostface Killah, Inspectah and Raekwon with major hip hop influences like AZ, Kool G Rap and Masta Ace. The album is a combo of RZA beats and live instrumentation by Brooklyn Soul band The Revelations as well. Very cool indeed!

Here’s what RZA had to say: (which is essentially like every other Wu album)

“This album has a very live element of today’s musicians playing the vibe of Wu-Tang, know what I mean? The vibe we would normally sample, the vibe of things that we would accumulate through old soul songs, jazz songs, kung fu movies, whatever, now you’ve got musicians that can play this vibe with Wu-Tang MCs rapping over it. The goal of this album is definitely paying homage to our early sound.”

1. Redemption (1:11)
2. Kill Too Hard (Feat. Inspectah Deck, U-God & Masta Ace) (2:49)

5. Sheep State (0:38)

Mase: Best I Ever Had Remix

July 9, 2009

Mase…. Is coming back? Welcome back, welcome back. Noone was more excited than me, the last time around. Mase killed the Drake track. Kidnapped it, strangled it, choked it, drowned it, buried it, dug it back up, and burned it and buried it again. A lot of people are hating on the remix and the idea of a Mase comeback. Whatever, say what you want.

What’s weird to me is he decided to make a comeback on a Drake track? Drake? I don’t get it. Do you get it? Ok.

What’s weirder is MJ’s death inspired the comeback? His death lit a fire in him? Weird. Don’t be hatin’. Mase be the one wanna see you doing good.
