Mastaplann has the old school vibe, something I miss greatly. It’s not the 80s slow, big bass hip hop but its that genuine 90s rap that feels good. Almost how the Fresh Prince’s sound reminds you of summer. Who would have guessed there would be days of Ja & Jay-Z to 50 Cent? If you don’t know Mastaplann, you’ll feel like you have. Once you listen to their sound, you’ll feel like you found an old friend you haven’t heard from in a while.

Bring him back. I loved him as DMX’s mom. We all know how amazing he was at impersonating hip hop’s finest. Someone give him a job, god knows he must need it.

Intro: New Boyz

Intro….intro….introducing

The New Boyz have been making their rounds for some time now, mostly in the Cali area. (Lame story insert: one of them wanted to be in the NFL, one of them wanted to be in the NBA- both had the same side hobby: RAP. They became known as the “New Boyz” and history was made.) As you can tell, they do seem to be another copy of the Cool Kids, yet they’re not as cool plus their music is not as good. But they are young and definitely have a swagger. Jokes aside, they do have a following and have been getting some major buzz. It’s just not easy for me to add another artist to my playlist. (Not official video shown)
