Stay Out of the Swamp

You’ve got Jason Vorhees, Freddy Krueger, & The Candy Man all in one feature. Of course they aren’t playing those defying roles but they are in fact together to create the next horror icon, Victor Crowley in Hatchet.

And It goes a little something like this: “Once there was a boy named Victor Crowley. He was born hideously deformed, and sadly, folks weren’t too kind to him. So he spent most of his life hidden in his Daddy’s house out in the bayou. One Halloween night, the local children came throwing firecrackers at the house to tease and scare him. And the old Crowley house caught fire. When Victor’s Daddy arrived home, the house was in flames. He went to the barn, grabbed himself a hatchet, and started chopping down the front door. But what he didn’t know was that Victor was pressed up against the other side, trying to get out. He hit him square in the face with the hatchet… and poor Victor Crowley died. The old man went into mourning and became a recluse after that. Never left the house. Never spoke to anyone. He finally passed away about ten years later. And that’s when the stories started. They say people tend to disappear in that swamp. And if you get close enough to the old Crowley house at night you can still hear Victor Crowley. Still roaming in the woods. Still crying for his Daddy.” – Louisiana Folklore

I can’t wait, I can’t wait. You can find out a lot more about the movie at it’s site. The cast is good, especially the older cast and if it lives up to the hype it will be the first good horror in years. It doesn’t come out till September 7th, though. It’s too early to geek out about it. It could so easily turn out to be horrible like the rest of Hollywood’s attempts.

Maybe one day Victor can join Horror F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

Horror just ain’t what it used to be. (I love OJ)

Avant Gaudy

I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of this shop but it is called Avant Gaudy. They call it “experimental vintage for the new garde”. Honestly, they are just trying to sell what they believe hipsterism is. But, I do have to give it to them, everything they sell is pretty badass and everything they sell is way cheap. They have some really good bargains and I happen to like just about everything they’ve got. You should check it out.

Man Man is already on a tour but now they are going to open for Modest Mouse. I like both bands a lot, so I’m pretty excited to see this team up. I already plan on going to see Man Man in May. They are going to blow up, they already own the blog-o-sphere. All they need to do now is make it on Grey’s Anatomy.

Buy the album Six Demon Bag, here.
